THIS IS A STORY THAT BEGINS IN THE MILITARY ...

The Eastpak story

This is a story that begins in the military, spans generations and ends with you.
1952
Our adventure begins in 1952. We were Eastern Canvas Products making tough gear for the US army.
1970s
In the 1970s we found ourselves on the shoulders of college kids, who start using army gear to carry their books on campus.
1976
In 1976, we designed the iconic daypack for those exact college kids. Eastpak and the daypack as we know it today, was born.
1984
So confident are we in our quality and durability, that in 1984 we decide to offer a 30-year warranty on our bags, that’s still in place today.
1985
In 1985 we became the first to add bright colors and prints to our canvas bags.
1999
We were the first to add wheels to soft luggage.
2004
Was the year of our first designer collaboration with Walter Van Beirendonck, the first of many. Other collaborations over the years include Raf Simons, A.P.C. and House of Hackney.
2011
Saw the launch of the Eastpak Artist Studio, where some of the world’s most creative minds come together to transform our Padded Pak’r™ into works of art. All proceeds go to the Designers Against AIDS charity.
2015
We find ourselves in the company of fashion royalty in 2015 with our collaboration with none other than Jean Paul Gaultier.
TODAY
Today we’re the same as we ever were; encouraging you to go out and explore, to be curious and discover what’s around you. Eastpak is the companion on your journey. Hands free living since 1952.
